Details
The gnome-settings-daemon errors from Gnome 2.14.0 are back
in 2.14.1, with warnings about the daemon failing to start
popping up while Gnome is loaded. Also, I've been noticing
some other weird stuff - for example, if you tell the clock
applet to show the date, it will sometimes (about 1/3 chance
for each session) put the date above the time instead of
next to it, even if the panel is set to such a size that
there is not enough room for that. Also, after exiting Gnome
(via menu entry), I sometimes get messages about gnome apps
(usually the panel) losing contact with the X server -
rather similar to the Kicker crash in KDE.

Yes, I have the similar one, usually with gnome-font-properties. but I don't the following described problems.
Working around this bug requires regular deletions of .gnome* and .gconfd directories, as that is a temporary fix - this should not be necessary.
