Additional comments about closing:  User requested: Last Night I tried to disable ASD (anything sync demon) as krusader when started in a shell printed some interessting messages indicating a problem with a full /dev/shm It seems, this solved the Problem for krusader and opera I think this issue should be closed... Thanks for the hints

Can you describe your environment, just tested opera on an up to date system (no testing) using xfce4 and everything works just fine.

My system is an up to date xfce4 too...
I use asd & psd, but this is working since several years without problems
As described - until yesterday opera was working fine and it was updated yesterday...

could you check anyway if it would be an issue with the profile directory by running:

$ opera --user-data-dir=$(mktemp -d)

if you only downgrade opera one version does it work again as before ?

So I can conclude here there is more going on than just opera failing.

The version that was working before is now also no longer working.

Next attempts to get it fixed:

1. did you have any issues during the system update ?
2. change your gtk theme to something "default" (just a wild idea)
3. re-install every package installed after 2015-04-10 22:46

otherwise how do I change the gtk theme?

why this should help? any current issues with pacman not working as intended?
and composing a pacman -U plus some 50-100 package names by hand seems to me not a good option & error prone

With the changed theme could you try the clean profile again ? opera --user-data-dir=$(mktemp -d)

But I'm relatively sure there is some corruption going on on your system. That is also the reason I ask you to re-install everything since 2015-04-10 22:46.

If you want to re-install everything because parsing the pacman.log is to error prone you could try:

$ pacman -S $(pacman -Qq)

Reinstalled the 128 packages... eventually that solved my Problem with krusader - Bug-ID 44540, but Opera is still not working...
but the gui is appering for a view seconds and you can see several reopens with crash reports in a tab...

I also tried the clean profile option again with no luck

Last Night I tried to disable ASD (anything sync demon) as krusader when started in a shell printed some interessting messages indicating a problem with a full /dev/shm

It seems, this solved the Problem for krusader and opera
I think this issue should be closed...
