Description:
rpcbind is not needed on an NFSv4 client. Yet, some dependency keeps starting rpcbind.service at boot once nfs-utils is installed. Steps to reproduce: 1. install nfs-utils. mount an nfs4 share. It works fine, even though you haven't started rpcbind.service. 2. Reboot. rpcbind.service is started, even though you haven't asked it to. In case you can't reproduce this please let me know. I tried hard to make sure I haven't (un)wilingly enabled the service somewhere somehow. In general I don't like my OS to start network services when not asked to, especially when a service is not needed ;). Still, I might have just done something silly here. I'm talking about nfs-utils 1.3.1-1 and rpcbind 0.2.1-5.
