sorry intel kernel 3.17.1 hangs on boot. Last message is about inteldrmfb. Works fine on 3.16.4. Kernel also boot with nomodeset but X hangs.

Hardware is Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller on Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3337U CPU @ 1.80GHz (Samsung NP740)

This is a duplicate of  FS#42518 , which in turn may be a duplicate of  FS#42509 . Can you test the latter?

as in  FS#42509  I've added "blacklist rtc-efi" in /etc/modprobe.d/rtc.conf and then mkinitcpio -p linux. Or is it a better way to blacklist it from grub? However 3.17.1 still hangs.
