Description:

The new package java-runtime-common, that replaces java-common and java-runtime, breaks many package dependencies, especially in AUR. Dummy packages of java-common and java-runtime would be advised for a certain time. Currently, I am not able to update to this package and thus not able to update jre7-openjdk, jre7-openjdk-headless and jdk7-openjdk.

AUR packages are unsupported. If they're broken, fix them.

Owners of packages from AUR that depend on former "java-common" were notified a week ago about this. Changes on their side is just changing dependency "java-common" to "java-runtime-common" and adding dependency "java-environment-common". This should take less than a minute.

@galaux: 'jre' has a new version as of today. No change with other AUR packages. Maybe 1 week is too short notice... Why this name change? Arch Linux is sometimes too dynamic and users need to live with workarounds until all is fixed again. Other distros at least work with dummy packages for some time.

@Scimmia: I know, but I am not the package maintainer of these packages...

For the time being, this is another candidate for 'IgnorePkg' in pacman.conf for the next couple of weeks.
