When an icon theme other than the default one is used, some
of the theme's icons will not be shown in Nautilus toolbars
and menus. The screenshot below shows this happening with
the Edge theme:
http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/9517/untitled2av.png The 'Home' icon at the bottom of the open menu, and all the icons in both of Nautilus's file list panels, are correct. However, the 'Home' and 'Computer' icons in the toolbar, as well as the 'Computer', 'Trash', 'Network', and first 'Home' icon in the menu, are default Gnome icons as opposed to Edge ones. For examples of what the incorrect icons should look like, see here: http://www.gnome-look.org/content/preview.php?preview=1&id=19775&file1=19775-1.png&file2=19775-2.png&file3=19775-3.png&name=Edge-Icons |

Some sizes have changed for some icons. GTK does a fallback to the
default GNOME theme when no icons are available now, which is the
source of your default gnome icons. This isn't a bug in nautilus,
but a bug in your icon theme.
