I would like to support GNOME initial setup[1] on Arch Linux, but currently our PAM file against using GDM in initial setup mode, because it only allows to run GDM as user 'gdm'. But if no user accounts available on the system, GDM will be launched in initial setup mode as user 'gnome-initial-setup' to configure the first user account.

Please use the attached patch file which removes the requirement of the 'gdm' user in gdm-launch-environment.pam, and allows to use the initial setup mode. See also the PAM file used in Fedora[2].
