Description:

[Since it is impossible to add comment under Bug  FS#40650 , I have to open a new one.]

MSN support has been removed from Kopete by package maintainer(s) while still available upstream.

MSN service still runs for the moment (can connect and talk with Pidgin).

I have asked re-opening of Bug  FS#40650 , saying that I think that a program should not be limited by package maintainer when it works, and that choice of using some functionality should be let to the user, especially with Arch Linux. It has been denied with the following message: "MSN has been shut down since 2006 according to Microsoft themselves". I do not see the point of saying that since using MSN with other programs has never been supported anyway!

The fact is that it still works for the moment and some Arch Linux users would like to use it with Kopete.

Thanks for your attention,

François.

If you want it, rebuild it yourself. The maintainer has already made the decision.
