Details
Description: after enabling WiFi, creating a new WiFi
network gave me only WEP or nothing as choices for WiFi AP
security. NetworkManager itself should support WPA for
realAP mode, i had this option when i tried a old Ubuntu
live (13.10) on the same computer. Wifi adapter (AR9285)
supports AP mode.
Additional info: * package version(s) networkmanager 0.9.10.0-2 network-manager-applet 0.9.10.0-2 * config and/or log files etc. Steps to reproduce: Create a new wifi network -> only wep as choice for security. |

By the way, both connections are made in ad-hoc mode (verified with a wifi phone), i don't know if NetworkManager supports Infrastructure AP mode.
I know hostapd can do the same, but i remember that also NM should do real AP.

It seems Ubuntu has added those patches to their version of NetworkManager.
I use them daily in my office workstation.
Just to edit the network configuration file under /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections with the proper arguments and NM will properly handle the new encryption method.
