Description:

When I switch to VT (e.g. by pressing CTRL+ALT+Fn) from an X display the screen goes dim. Switching back to X restores the original brightness if and only if it wasn't at maximum at the beginning; otherwise changing the backlight level using the brightness Fn keys does the work. Also, I can change brightness in a VT by writing to /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness; so it seems more like an X11 issue, but I'm not really sure since I don't recall having this problem while using 3.12 kernel. Any tips for debugging this bug would be highly appreciated.

The laptop I'm using is a Samsung NP450R4E-X03CL.
