Detailsthe optional deps of xbmc say:
"upower: used to trigger power management functionality" this is not true anymore. Since XBMC 13.0 upower is only needed to display the battery level, power management works fine without it. see also https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/2971 |

after some testing i find the description is correct, a standalone xbmc cannot be restarted or powered off without upower

please test this again. It works fine without upower on two of my machines, even when started as standalone with xbmc.service.
