Description:

The mate-power-manager panel applet is not displaying the correct charge when on battery power. The icon shows a full battery and the tooltip reports that the battery is 100% full. This problem does not affect ac power. When on ac power, the applet icon will change to show that it's on ac power and it will correctly report the charge percentage.

I did find that the correct charge percentage is reported in mate-power-statistics. Likewise, if I right click on the applet it displays a 'Laptop battery' option which shows the correct charge percentage next to it.

Additional info:

I found out that the issue isn't just about the applet thinking the battery is at 100%. It seems that the applet gets stuck on whatever charge the battery happened to have on whenever the laptop switches to battery power. For instance, if I boot my laptop and the battery happens to be on 54% then the applet will get stuck on 54%.
