I'm either blind or nothing from libreoffice-draw explicitly links
to libreoffice-impress, at least on library level.

I cannot see it either, but the bug is actually fixed when you
install libreoffice-impress.

The same thing was happening before except with writer and calc.
If calc wasn't installed, the writer wouldn't start. It's not like
that today, but it is a reoccuring problem with libreoffice.

Yes, but previously Writer was explicitly linking to library
provided by Calc. I failed to find the missing file so far.

While I'm still working on the issue, we'll probably move away
from split packaging after 4.3 release.

Just to add to the idea that returning LibreOffice to one piece is
a good thing for Arch, currently the form wizard in base doesn't
work unless writer is installed (segfault in java). I don't use
this software normally, but it seems that I find this stuff often.
If it matters to anyone, I don't see any added value to this being
split.
