Description:
As I reported here: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=177821 current iso installer (2014.02.01) will not load in UEFI mode from USB pen drive on Dell XPS 13 (L322X). It shows the boot loader, then as I select "Arch Linux archiso x86_64 UEFI CD", the screen turns black (backlit is working, the screen is just empty) and stays there forever. I tried with any boot options combinations (on Dell BIOS settings): secure boot: off, boot mode: UEFI; load legacy rom: both enebled and disabled. After many attempts with different USB pen drives and by using either dd or unetbootin to write the iso to the usb media, I tested previous installer "archlinux-2014.01.05-dual.iso" and that worked without any problems on the same USB media. Steps to reproduce: 1) Download "archlinux-2014.02.01-dual.iso" and write to an USB pen drive either with dd command or by using unetbootin 2) Plug the usb pen drive into the LH usb port (in RH it won't be recognized as a bootable device, this happens with Ubuntu too) 3) Restart the computer holding F12 key down 4) Select under UEFI boot menu the USB entry 5) The bootloader menu appears: select "Arch Linux archiso x86_64 UEFI CD" option 6) The screen turn black (empty) and gets stuck there repeat the above steps with archlinux-2014.01.05-dual.iso as a source image and you'll get to command prompt as expected. Also "efivars -l" gives a proper output confirming you're in EFI mode. |

From archiso POV the only change between these ISO images is DHCP
realted which cannot cause such issues.
Or the new gummitboot is broken for you (v41 vs v43) or maybe
linux (v3.12.6 vs v3.12.9). You can try interchange in the USB
drive ;) Also you can wait for 2014.03 ;)
