Description:

I can't print from Java programs since cups was updated to version 1.7.1-2. When i downgrade cups to version 1.7.1-1 and ghostscript to version 9.10-2, i can print. These two versions don't have dependencies to libpaper.

Can you print from other non java apps with latest cups? See also  FS#38684 .

I can print from other none java apps. And when i disable cups.socket, i can also print from java apps.

Can I confirm, print not only possible with java applications.
Turning the cups.socket not lead to success.
At least not with me.

Maybe that's a different issue.

Can you both downgrade to an older Java version for testing? I'm still not sure if it's caused by the socket.service
change in cups or by one of the latest Java updates.

Could we get some more information about this to reproduce? At least what java application(s) are failing? Any stack trace and/or log (/var/log/cups/*)?

I can print on tuxguitar (java/swt app) with the following:
local/jdk7-openjdk 7.u51_2.4.5-1
local/cups 1.7.1-3
local/cups-filters 1.0.44-2
local/libcups 1.7.1-3
