When sharpconstruct is loaded, everything seems fine and no
errors are reported. However, the model can not be deformed

I see your point, but the distributed binary doesn't work for me
either. Has anybody another distro at fingertipps where s/he can
confirm that?

ok, even the author of sharpconstruct stated tht he isn't sure if
he continues now that he has ported functionality into blender.
This will hit town with version 2.43 of blender so we have to wait
a while for it. after the change of the GUI of sharconstruct I
never actually got it working again reliably. Archlinux is most
likely to discontinue support for that package at all.

there is 0.12rc3 in the repos and this works now for me. But still
I think the package will have a long future.
