package "util-linux" contains a command-line spell checker called "look" that uses a dictionary file located in /usr/share/dict/words. I am assuming that makepkg is stripping this file from the package.

Possible solutions: 1) Don't strip out /usr/share/dict/words and /usr/share/dict/web2, or 2) place the dictionaries in an alternate location and patch look and its man page to reference the new location.

No, I can't find a "words" file in the util-linux source tarball. If you can find it, I'll include it in util-linux.

Judd, I researched this a bit more. I don't know why util-linux ships with a utility (look) that refereneces /usr/share/dict/words without actually providing the file, but I've created a 'words' package that includes several languages. It's been added to extra as 'words'.

go ahead and close this out (or I will if I see that you haven't closed it in a week).
