Details

Description:
Version 1.0.1.e-4 no longer contains /usr/lib/libssl.a and /usr/lib/libcrypto.a.
Previous version(s), e.g., 1.0.1.e-3 did. Dynamic libs are present as before.

The static libs are required for building various external SW.

Additional info:
openssl versions 1.0.1.e-3 and 1.0.1e-4

Steps to reproduce:
Starting with openssl 1.0.1.e-3, run
$ pacman -Qo /usr/lib/libcrypto.a
/usr/lib/libcrypto.a is owned by openssl 1.0.1.e-3

Upgrade openssl to 1.0.1.e-4, then run
$ pacman -Qo /usr/lib/libcrypto.a
error: failed to read file '/usr/lib/libcrypto.a': No such file or directory

I see. This is a little inconvenient, nothing more. I suppose "unneeded" is in the eye of the beholder, but I accept the general change of policy.

Which SW I'm trying to build is not very relevant, it's not generally available.
