Description:
Skype audio is broken when using pulseaudio 4.0. When a call is started the speaker emits only a continuous crackling whistle. Other audio programs work fine (Amarok, videos on youtube). As reported here: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=163916 a fix consists in appending "tsched=0" to "load-module module-udev-detect" in /etc/pulse/default.pa. This fix works for me. Additional info: * package version(s) skype 4.2.0.11-1 from multilib lib32-libpulse 4.0-2 libpulse 4.0-2 pulseaudio 4.0-2 Steps to reproduce: 1) Install the above packages on a x86_64 system 2) Start a test call with skype (do it twice if at first shot there is no sound) |
