Details

Description:

When updating packages with Apper, the messages shown afterwards are made very hard to read, due to no line breaks being shown from the original message. This is especially annoying after updating a kernel / running dkms, as I get a lot of informative messages when mkinitcpio is run. These are messages are nicely spaced when running pacman, but when running Apper, the post-upgrade messages appear on one, very long line.

Additional info:
* package version(s)
Arch Linux x86_64 kernel optimised for Intel Nehalem CPUs, from the linux-ck repo.
KDE.
Apper.

I keep everything as up-to-date as the repos.

* config and/or log files etc.
n/a

Steps to reproduce:

Update any package that produces an informative message over more than one line.
e.g.
Updating the kernel, or any package that triggers dkms to be run (e.g. virtualbox-host-dkms) causes a lot of output.

I think it's an upstream bug in Apper, because it works fine in GNOME. Please report it to the upstream developers here:
