DetailsDescription: The package was changed with 7.2.6-4 to copy rsyslog-example.conf to /usr/share/doc/rsyslog/ rather than as configuration to /etc.
Probably because the rsyslog devs apparently changed that example file in a way that as conf, it causes the program to instantly go into an infinite loop. It won't start at all without such file present, however. I simply copied the default conf Debian with which Debian ships 7.2.6, so far it works properly again: http://packages.debian.org/experimental/rsyslog |
