Description:

mpd hangs when trying to play a wma file and needs to be restarted.

Downgrading mpd to 0.17.3-1 and ffmpeg to 1:1.0.1-1 fixes the problem.

This may be an ffmpeg bug since vlc also exhibits problems with wma (see  FS#33833 ).

This looks to be a problem with ffmpeg. As per this forum thread:

video playback is also having some issues and reverting to the old version of ffmpeg (along with a couple of other linked packages such as x264, vlc, xine-lib) fixes the problem.

The git version does not present this problem. The bug report shows the bug as solved:

For a simple patch (5 lines), this commit seems to be the correction:
