the problem is openmotif is not drop-in replacement

$ sudo pacman -R lesstif -dd
$ sudo pacman -S openmotif
$ xpdf file.pdf
xpdf: error while loading shared libraries: libXm.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Comment by Sergej Pupykin (sergej) - Monday, 10 December 2012, 10:23 GMT
PS: openmotif provides libXm.so.4

I understand. Maybe we should introduce something like provides=('motif') both here and in the lesstiff package then. It would make the live of AUR maintainers easier.

 FS#32282  should really be implemented. I don't know why the request was (initially) denied.
