Description:
when trying t start libreoffice after latest update I only see the splash screen flash by and then nothing.

I had libreoffice running yesterday or the day before.

Trying to start it in a terminal gives the following output:

[xxxx@xxxxx ~]$ soffice

Reported duplicate bug #32721 because this one wasn't filled in ArchLinux categorie. And I can confirm it too. Very annonying.

soffice works for me here on x86_64, having only writer installed.
what architecture are you using?

Calc, draw, impress, base. And writer. 64 bit version.

I tried - without luck - to remove every single component of libreoffice, and it doesn't start at all. Even only with writer. Deactivate testing and "downgrade" packages as it is the only workaround :(
