Description:

With kdebase-workspace 4.9.2-5 and no consolekit running, there are no shutdown and reboot options in the KDE menu.
I don't use KDM.

Surely this shouldn't be the case, as consolekit is supposed to not be needed anymore, right?

Mounting and other things that require privileges are working fine.

Steps to reproduce:
* install kdebase-workspace 4.9.2-5
* remove or mask consolekit
* run KDE through xinit alone

This isn't *at all* related to autologin (I don't use nor want autologin of any kind), it's about the lack of menu entries for shutdown and reboot in Plasma when not running consolekit or KDM. And yes, a correct pam session exists.

I don't understand what "run KDE through xinit alone" means then.

Please paste the output of `loginctl list-sessions`, and then for each session id run `loginctl show-session <id>`

`xinit` in `.zlogin`. "Alone" as in "no login manager".

Greg: I already said that a correct session exists.

polkit 0.107 still hasn't moved from [testing], so you'll also need to rebuild the one from [extra] with --enable-systemd (or enable [testing])

@thestinger: kdebase-workspace 4.9.2-5 *is* from testing.
@ladyaurora: please follow  FS#32206  if interested, this is a configuration issue not a bug.
