Details

Enchant currently enables support for 3 dictionaries.
Aspell, myspell and hspell.
Making all of these dependencies optional would enable the user to choose which dictionary is desired to be used without affecting the core functionality of the application.
Especially hspell is uneeded by most users who dont need hebrew support.

BTW myspell doesnt seem to be listed as an enchant dependency even though there is a file /usr/lib/enchant/libenchant_myspell.so

edit: it seems thats for hunspell.
