The bug you linked discusses another issue.

Presentation mode works fine here. Test again with "Put display to sleep when computer is inactive for" set to one minute, to make sure it's not something else kicking in at the 10 minute mark.

I setted "Put display to sleep when computer is inactive for" to one minute, and changed it to presentation mode, after one minute, the display still on, but after 10 mitnutes, the display still went to sleep.

Patch is wrong according to [1]; reopen if a proper fix gets accepted/committed upstream [2].
