"ffmpeg: error while loading shared libraries: libxvidcore.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" - I recieve this message when trying to run ffmpeg from the 20050801 package that is currently in testing. Installing xvidcore (specifically, 1.0.3-2 that is in extra) fixed it straight away. It seems simply like an unfulfilled dependency to me.
