gnome-vfs now replace pkg gnome-vfs-samba but to works it need also the pkg 'samba'. Without this pkg is not possible to explore smb:// with nautilus.
I don't know if samba is a dependence or if it's only a feature. If the second reason is right I think that you have to add a message in .install to notify users.
