Description:
I did a basic install using the latest netinstall image. I choose automatic partitioning and the syslinux boot loader. All went well until the final stage 'set legacy boot flag and install mbr' which failed. The error message on vt7 was unhelpful. A GPT partition had been setup, but sgdisk was unavailable. Regardless, this is an old x86_64 laptop and the bios won't support a GPT bootloader, so I used fdisk to rewrite the MBR partition table, dd'ed the syslinux mbr and all was well. |
