With the recent glib2 (from testing) update, "emacs -nw" doesn't work and goes into an infinite loop. This has been reported elsewhere too.

Using the patch in Message #14 there and rebuilding emacs23 fixes the issue. This is a bit critical since emacs23 is being used widely and emacs24 is not out yet.

I'm seeing the same thing though hadn't worked out the cause. I am running glib2 2.32 from testing.

I can confirm this. The daemon mode (emacs --daemon) also hangs.
