Description:

Upgrade of openssl package from version 1.0.0.h-1 to 1.0.1-1 crashes Kmess (latest version from official repos) and gives "error connecting to server" on amsn.

Additional info:
* package version(s)
* config and/or log files etc.

Steps to reproduce:

Upgrade to openssl (1.0.1-1)
Connect to Kmess, wait a few seconds...kmess crashes
Attempt to connect on amsn... "cannot connect on server" error message appears.

Not sure about the "severity" , marked as high, because of "core" status of pkg and because it crashes 2 programs.

Reason for closing:  Won't fix
Additional comments about closing:  This can no longer be reproduced with kmess, and the MSN/WLM network has been closed down.

Something similar also happens with ea origin on wine (which runs fine with openssl-1.0.0h)
I initially thought this was a wine bug, but after opening this ticket
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30246
and giving some debug output the dev concluded the issue was with openssl

amsn-0.98.9-1 released, issue still persisting?

Unfortunately I can't verify this at the moment since I've removed both kmess and amsn from my system and settled with pidgin which I had it already installed for a few other chat protocols.
The reason for that was that I couldn't keep openssl as an ignored package and had to upgrade it in order for other programs I use more frequently to be able to function/ build properly (cower from AUR is a prime example of this).
Also pidgin never faced the above mentioned bug which is encouraging the least.

I can't reproduce this bug with current amsn 0.98.9-1. However it is still an issue with kmess.

Regards.
