kmod 4-1 does not load modules based on their aliases
correctly. So the platform module for my netbook is not
loaded automatically anymore.

This will be fixed for kmod5. It's not life threatening since it
only affects aliases with a '.' in them. Generally, this only
applies to DMI.
Decided to backport some other fixes, pulled in this one with it.
Please make sure kmod-4-2 in testing fixes this.
