Description:

KDM doesn't source /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc (which sources /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d) making the session environment inconsistent compared to when being started by other DM's, such as gdm (certain variables don't get set and some programs do not launch, etc).

Other distros have either patched the /usr/share/config/kdm/Xsession or the /usr/bin/genkdmconf to load their respective xinitrc files.

All versions of KDM. This cannot be patched by the KDE developers because not all distros use the same directory structure for /etc/X11/xinit.
