Arch Linux's xorg packages don't include the x11.pc and so
many new apps don't build, as they use pkgconfig to find X
instead of pure autoconf tools. The x11.pc is built through
freedesktop.org's xlibs X11 library:

I looked in the ubuntu tarball, and we end up adding something like 30 .pc files, which is not very acceptable. Other distributions running Xorg 6.8 or before also don't provide these extra files.
When xorg 6.9 will be released, these files will be included, since it's upstream stuff. For now, we'll leave it this way.
