I am not sure about the testing/pacman as well since I
encountered crashing of
pacman-3.5.3-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.gz when the network connection is not available and when network connection stalls. I am force to downgrade to pacman-3.5.2-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.gz Trying pacman -S midori --debug didn't help me identifying the cause of core dump. So I can only report to Arch Linux community to see if some can guide me to debug this issue, which I feel is critical since pacman is the critical package manager for ArchLinux. I did a full pacman -Syu (testing version in pacman.conf) on the 9th June 2011. |

FS#24615so this is likely a duplicate.https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/24648
since it is mentioned in https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/24615 as a glibc problem
(as I did a full testing upgrade).
However, just to point out some phenomena for comparison: pacman 3.5.2-1 works, older versions of gtk3 and glib2 seem to work for my firefox (with no crash).
Sorry for a lousy report. But I have tried installed pacman-3.5.3-1 on my ArchLinux stable. No core dump happen. So it should be the glibc you mentioned. The glibc also caused my firefox to core dump. I reported with a wrong observation in https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/24648. My appology to you.
I have attached stable.txt and testing.txt to indicate that runnning pacman-3.5.3-1 on the stable ArchLinux has no core dump, but on testing ArchLinux, the glibc-2.14 is causing a lot of problem, not only pacman crashed, but also firefox, midori crashed.
May be the message here can be merged to some other task. Thanks!
