Summary and Info:
makepkg uses file -bizL to determine whether to use bsdtar or something else to extract source files. It happens that it gives an incorrect output in certain cases:

(file is available on ftp.archlinux.org/other/texlive/)

texlive-science-2011.22648-src.zip: application/x-xz; charset=binary compressed-encoding=application/octet-stream; charset=binary; charset=binary

causing makepkg to ignore this file, whereas bsdtar should be used there.

Steps to Reproduce:

Package versions used:
pacman 3.5.2
file 5.07
