Do I need to recompile gmerlin and/or glibc for debug symbols?
Comment by Jelle van der Waa (jelly) - Sunday, 26 June 2011, 09:49 GMT
This output tells me not much, rebuilding with debug symbols should give more info

Same thing happens here. Although, it spits out quite a lot more after the "Plugin failed":

[pluginregistry] Error: dlopen failed for /usr/lib/gmerlin/plugins/ir_png.so: /usr/lib/gmerlin/plugins/ir_png.so: undefined symbol: png_set_gray_1_2_4_to_8

zsh: segmentation fault openmovieeditor

So I am guessing the problem is unrelated to the plugin failure.

On a slightly related note: the dependencies for this package is wrong, I had to install "fltk" manually after I installed this package.

m. The function png_set_gray_1_2_4_to_8() was removed. It has been
deprecated since libpng-1.0.18 and 1.2.9, when it was replaced with
png_set_expand_gray_1_2_4_to_8() because the former function also
expanded palette images.

I have tried to fix it too, but its really a pain in the ass. Certainly when there will be a libpng update. So i won't have a problem with it ;)
