Description:
When booted through UEFI, rebooting fails but halt works as expected.

Additional info:
* kernel26 2.6.37.1-1

Steps to reproduce:
Boot with an UEFI bootloader, try rebooting.

Attached is the output shown when trying to reboot.

Please add 'reboot_type=k' to the kernel commandline in the bootloader menu and check whether reboot works. This might be a problem with the firmware rather than the kernel.

reboot_type=k didn't help.

Also, I didn't try .38 on Arch yet, but it didn't work on a Gentoo install I had. I'll make a install with [testing] to see if .38 solves this.

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/721576 . Must be a problem with UEFI firmware rather than kernel. Still it is better to report it upstream (kernel). Suggested workaround - add "reboot=a,w" to the kernel command line ( http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git;a=blob_plain;f=Documentation/x86/x86_64/boot-options.txt;hb=HEAD )

Hope this helps. I don't have any Sandy Bridge UEFI system to verify this problem and it doesn't occur with Tianocore EDK2 DUET UEFI firmware.
