The forum search form requires the user to wait 30 seconds
between searches. It is very frustrating to use when the
first result returns no (relevant) hits.
Given how often users are directed to search the forum, it should be as useful as possible. Making it a frustrating experience reduces its utility. I understand that you have to balance the load on the server, but I hope that it can be decreased to 5 or 10 seconds, if not eliminated entirely. |

This is what I'm seeing and I measured - it's true.
Maybe I want to add some additional keywords or take some out, or change my query a bit.
I think the general use of the search box is this: user rarely uses search box, but when he does, he searches 2-5x's in quick succession. It would be nice if the search reflected this.
How about limiting it to 5 queries every minute?
Better indexing, faster results, no timeout, no risk of our server keeling over because of the insane joins that FluxBB's built in search does.
