Description:

Vlc freezes when, with kde 4.6, you click on Media - Open file.

This bug has been fixed upstream : http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=260719
I attached the patch to apply on kdelibs with this report.
I tested this patch for a few hours. It fixed the vlc issue for me and I found nothing else broken.

While I was testing the patch, it seems that upstream reverted it from their git repository and reopened the bug report. Anyway, this patch might not be the most elegant solution as explained in comment #32 in upstream report, but it works. So feel free to include it as a temporary workaround or wait for the final solution.
