Description: After upgrading to the latest testing mesa packages KDE desktop effects based on lanczos filter (taskbar thumbnails, present windows) become really slow and the whole desktop is unresponsive for a few seconds whenever one of this effects is used. At some point KDE detects the slowness and suspends compositing altogether. This was not the case with mesa 7.9 series packages where everything works flawlessly. .xsession-errors does not provide any useful info.

Additional info:
* package version(s) intel-dri 7.9.99.git20101217-1
* hardware intel x4500

Steps to reproduce: Upgrade to pre-7.10 mesa packages from [testing] and login to KDE.

Make sure you did a full pacman -Syu. Please post your dmesg + Xorg.0.log.

Same behaviour after upgrading to 7.9.99.git20101222 (this is a fully updated system with [testing] enabled). Attached are my dmesg.log and Xorg.0.log

intel-dri from testing is broken for most intel users. If you have a G35, then the bug is in xf86-video-intel, but in all other cases intel-dri is the problem. You can safely downgrade intel-dri to the version in extra, it will work with new drivers, libgl, mesa, xorg-server and libdrm from testing.

It's definetely the intel-dri package (downgrading just this one solves the issues). I just hope that 7.10 does not move into [extra] before things are better for intel users.

The lanczos filter has been blacklisted for the intel/mesa 7.10 combo in KDE 4.6, so this won't be a problem anymore with the upcoming KDE 4.6

Indeed, KDE 4.6 and mesa 7.10 are working together fine.
