how's Mesa 7.10 and the new driver from testing?
Comment by mwnn (mwnn) - Sunday, 19 December 2010, 17:15 GMT
With the new driver from testing (xf86-video-intel-2.13.902-1-i686.pkg.tar.xz) XDM is no longer visible (a dark screen appears). Although I am able to login and see parts of the XFCE panel (the rest of the screen remains dark). Xorg log file has the following line repeated: "[ 13.067] (EE) intel(0): Failed to submit batch buffer, expect rendering corruption or even a frozen display: Invalid argument.".

Seem that this bug is related to this upstream bug :

Some news about this bug? I still have the problem...

niQo what you have do in order to apply the posted patch?
Comment by niQo (niQo) - Sunday, 09 January 2011, 12:16 GMT
@Horo86 : you can rebuild current xf86-video-intel with upstream patch. But it's perhaps easier to use xf86-video-intel 2.14 that is currently in testing.

Is this still a problem with xf86-video-intel 2.14.0-2 ?
Comment by niQo (niQo) - Friday, 04 March 2011, 06:09 GMT
This bug is fixed upstream in 2.14 release.
So fixed in xf86-video-intel 2.14.0-2 for me.
