Description:
I today upgraded from xf86- xf86-video-intel-2.12.0-3- to xf86-video-intel-2.13.0-4. After restarting X i get the following errors .

In the console it prints

intel_bufmgr_gem.c:1076: Error setting domain 12 : Input/Output Error
intel_bufmgr_gem.c:1076: Error setting domain 9 : Input/Output Error
(EE) intel(0): Detected a hung GPU, disabling acceleration.

The xorg log errors are.

(EE) intel(0): Detected a hung GPU, disabling acceleration.

My intel chip is

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82946GZ/GL Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02)

I have this error both in i686 and AMD64 architecture.
Downgrading to xf86- xf86-video-intel-2.12.0-3 solves the problem.

And watching a movie crashes the X .

Same problem with intel G35 on Arch 64

With the new driver from testing (xf86-video-intel-2.13.902-1-i686.pkg.tar.xz) XDM is no longer visible (a dark screen appears). Although I am able to login and see parts of the XFCE panel (the rest of the screen remains dark). Xorg log file has the following line repeated: "[ 13.067] (EE) intel(0): Failed to submit batch buffer, expect rendering corruption or even a frozen display: Invalid argument.".

@Horo86 : you can rebuild current xf86-video-intel with upstream patch. But it's perhaps easier to use xf86-video-intel 2.14 that is currently in testing.

This bug is fixed upstream in 2.14 release.
So fixed in xf86-video-intel 2.14.0-2 for me.
