DetailsI've heard some complaints about the new ghostscript dependency for cups that is required for most printerdrivers. This causes people using samba on their server to get a full X server on their headless server.
cups will work for true postscript printers without ghostscript, because these printers do the processing themselves. I think it's best to remove ghostscript from the dependencies again and add them as dependency on the driver packages that require ghostscript to function correctly (hpijs for example). We could make a notice of this in the postinstall, because it's hard to find out why cups isn't printing. |
