What dri driver does your card use? Please post Xorg.0.log+dmesg and look for upstream bugs (mesa+kde).

I use the ati-dri one,
Here is my Xorg.0.log: http://pastebin.archlinux.fr/425566
And the result of the dmesg command: http://pastebin.archlinux.fr/425567
And I look for upstream bugs and their is no solution yet for this problem, problem who appears for other peoples with KDE 4.5 and mesa 7.9.

please check again with new testing kernel 2.6.36!

I tried it but had the same problem...
For me blur effect only works with mesa 7.8 and kernel 2.6.34 (because on .35 & .36 their are gliches with mesa 7.8 but the blur effect work to with mesa 7.8).
So I concluded that the problem is located in mesa 7.9 package or kde's packages.

I follow your advice but the blureffect still don't work! I don't understand why, I'm not the only user of an ATI card in KDE... And don't know to why I can't have this blur effect since mesa 7.9... I remove my .kde4 files two times but it didn't solve my problem and it's frustrating not to be able to have blur however it work with mesa 7.8.
And don't want to downgrade to mesa 7.8 any more but I except to have this fuc***** blur. How can I help you? Which files do I have to gave you? Thanks.

Lol the google help, I found nothing except more precision on this bug. Beside my problem is now solve with radeon repository's packages. The last mesa-devel revision fix this problem. Ha that's pretty great!!!!!

I wonder what's different in that repository. We have latest mesa7.10 in testing. Maybe there's more recent kernel drm module that fixes it or a commits past 6.13 driver release.

Edit: ah - now I see some late commits in the mesa 7.10 branch that may be the fix. I'll update the snapshot very soon.
