Description: freeimage 3.14.1-2 is linking against the older libpng 1.2. Trying to use other libraries, such as opencv, with freeimage results in errors about mixing libpng 1.2 and 1.4. I rebuilt freeimage from abs and it works just fine, so I think it just has to be compiled against libpng 1.4.

freeimage has internal copies of many libraries and they are not supporting anything else.

gentoo removed from their repos because of this.
