Description:

The apache dependency should either be replaced by a virtual "httpd" package(like the "smtp-server") or moved to optdepends.

There are zillions of httpd servers out there and it is just wrong to force a user to install a apache when he might use another httpd already.

Additional info:
* package versions: 2.1.11-2 and 2.1.13-1

Our webservers don'r provide a generic "httpd" pkg name. Maybe it's worth to think about it. What do the webserver maintainers think?

Then apache should probably be put into optdepends because the webinterface is more or less a optional feature and not needed to run Mailman it can be fully managed via the command line and the mail interface.

If a webserver is not a real dependency I would just leave it out completely. I wouldn't even add an optdepend as it is obvious if a user wants to view the archives etc. he'll need some kind of webserver.
