I can't reproduce this one with gnome-system-monitor 2.8.1 running
with libgtop from current in a gnome 2.9.x environment. The only
things I see are some failed assertions on startup and it's slower
than gnome-system-monitor-2.9.

I found what was causing the bug, I will fix this bug tomorrow
when I have time. The bug is triggered when having /tmp mounted as
tmpfs, which I don't have.
