I said everything in the summary, scanned PDF files looks
awful in evince (but DJVU and truetype PDF files are
rendered correctly).
I think this is a poppler bug, since epdfview has the same issue; and xpdf renders pdf correctly. The PDF rendering is beautiful with evince 2.30.2-1 and poppler
0.14.0-1, so this bugreport can be closed.
