Trying to build against saxon9 I get
configure: error: Could not find or use the Java package/jar saxon used by Saxon XSLT Processor (looking for package com.icl.saxon.Loader)

The former maintainer was a member of inria and should have known what he did. I guess it XSLT 1.0 is needed here.

Scilab 5.2.0 is not easily buildable. They need a "java to hdf5 interface" (see http://www.hdfgroup.org/hdf-java-html/hdf-object/) which needs java header files. I do not have a solution to make this independent for the flavor of java installed.

If java-saxon and scilab don't work shouldn't they be removed from [community]?
